This group comprises some of the most prominent policymakers, researchers, service providers, and business leaders of Bangladesh with extensive knowledge and expertise in the field of Domestic Resource Mobilisation. Their views and suggestions can help the centre to identify the main barriers and opportunities in strengthening the domestic resource mobilisation effort in Bangladesh. Through their contributions, they can pave the way for meaningful discussions and effective policy advocacy.
Dr Zaidi Sattar
Dr Sattar is the Chairman and Chief Executive of Policy Research Institute of Bangladesh (PRI) since its founding in 2009. PRI is a leading think tank in Bangladesh. Dr Sattar began his career in 1969 as member of the elite Civil Service of Pakistan (CSP), and later worked in the Districts and Secretariat for Bangladesh Government. He holds a PhD in Economics from Boston University and has taught Economics at Dhaka University, Catholic University of America, Boston University, and University of Massachusetts. Dr Khurshid Alam started his career as a member of the 1981 batch of Bangladesh Civil Service (Administration) cadre. On completion of his foundation training at the Civil Officers Training Academy he started as Assistant Commissioner in Chittagong District and subsequently in field administration of Gazipur District. IN 1985 he went to USA for studies and in 1990 completed his PhD in Economics from Boston University. On return from USA he served with the Ministry of Finance and then on deputation with the national airline, Bangladesh Biman.
