Md. Farid Uddin was a Civil Servant belonging to the Customs and Vat cadre of the BCS 1982 batch. He did his Masters from Dhaka University. He worked in the Customs and Vat department for thirty-two years in different capacities. Finally, he was a Member of Customs and Vat Policy in the National Board of Revenue (NBR) and was also involved in its modernization initiatives. He retired from the Govt Services in 2017. His present areas of interest, inter alia, are to study the Tariff and Tax policies of Bangladesh for the development of its business and revenue.
