Dr Amanullah (Chanchal) Khan (PhD in Public Policy) is a former international civil servant with the UN system, and currently holds a distinguished appointment as Honorary Senior Fellow with the University of Melbourne, Australia, where he co-founded the Development Studies Programme in 1998, and taught for several years. He is an internationally acclaimed development professional who has contributed over the last 36 years at strategic levels for several bilateral and multilateral agencies, including ADB, the World Bank, UNDP, AusAID, DFID, USAID, JICA, EU and several international NGOs across the Asia – Pacific and Africa region. Dr Khan is well regarded as a strategic policy advocacy and evaluation specialist, and an action researcher with a strong policy formulation and related advocacy background. Some of the key areas of his work has been development effectiveness, social protection, secondary education, technical and vocational education, South-South and triangular cooperation, M&E and governance.
Dr Khan, who is also widely known in his professional area as Mak Khan, has contributed to over 60 development assignments across 28 countries that includes development partners’ country program formulation, country program reviews, and conducting evaluation of about 60 programs for ADB, several UN agencies, EU, Canada, Australia and UK.
Dr Khan is the author of the book “IT IS WHAT IT IS: COVID-19 FACTS, FACTOIDS AND CONSPIRACIES”, published by Tellwell Canada and Australia in September 2021.
He also has a strong cultural background who is also widely known as Chanchal Khan, as a Tagore exponent of repute.
